Great underground punk and bands to watch out for.

The Abyss Stares Back Split EP brings together three underground acts from Birminghams Punk scene:

Twelve Twelve, SUE and The Butters Aliens. Each band was tasked with writing a song within the theme of Cosmic Horror, resulting in three unique interpretations that will have your feet stamping and your blood pulsing throughout.

The Butter Aliens begin the EP with ‘Rat Trap ‘, a catchy garage punk banger railing against the curse of modern life. Twelve Twelve are up next with ‘Pills ‘, a disturbing and moody anthem that deals with paranoia and drug addiction. SUE finish the line up with ‘The Beast ‘, a fast and heart pounding rollercoaster delving into existential anxiety.

I’ve not taken the liberty to write much else about these tracks as the press release above says it all. Great fast paced, and sometimes enthemic and deep punk from the second city. Well worth the £2.97.
