The Amorettes Announce New Album

THE AMORETTES

Announce New Album
‘WHITE HOT HEAT’

Release Date 27th June 2016

Scots Rock Trio, The Amorettes, have announced that their new album, White Hot Heat, will be released worldwide through Off Yer Rocka Recordings on 27 June 2016.

White Hot Heat, the follow up to the acclaimed, ‘Game On’ and has been produced by Luke Morley, songwriter and lead guitarist with UK Rock act, Thunder, and engineered by Nick Brine, with credits that include Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay, Snow Patrol, The Darkness, Oasis, and many more. White Hot Heat was recorded at Brine’s Leeders Vale studios in Ebbw Vale, South Wales.

“The Amorettes make a great noise,” says Morley, “so I was delighted to be involved in the new album. They opened for The Union 5 years ago, and I’ve been watching their development with interest ever since. I think we’ve captured something really special with the album, and I think it will surprise a lot of people.”

” It was a new way of working for us.” says Hannah. ” We had a week of pre-production and building the songs in the studio before we started recording. It’s safe to say this process has brought out the best in our playing, and we have grown so much as musicians as a result.”  ” It was unlike anything we’ve ever done before.” continues Heather.

“We’ve been introduced to an entirely new way of breaking down our songs and working out structures. Plus, it was incredible to watch Nick at work too. Fine tuning the mixes with such speed and dancing behind the soundboard.  Having the legendary Kenny Dogleash in the studio was very therapeutic too; except when he watches you eat and tries to steal all your food from your hand.  I think that overall, this is the most exciting album we’ve ever made.”

About Louise Swift

I first went to a gig in 1981, Gillan at Leeds University. I've been a regular gig goer ever since. I haven't kept count of how many gigs I've been to over the intervening years, but it's a lot! My favourite bands are AC/DC then, in no particular order, Anti-Nowhere League, Slaughter and the Dogs, Towers of London and Dirt Box Disco. I tend to like Glam/Punk and rude offensive lyrics, not sure what that says about me but as Animal would say 'So What!' The question was recently put to me - did I write for any online publications? My reply - No, but I'd like to! Planetmosh was suggested and I found myself offering to review Aces High Festival. Easy peasy I thought! Well not quite, if a jobs worth doing it's worth doing well! I had sixteen bands to research. I found I actually enjoyed that and it kept me too busy to be making lunatic comments on Facebook! ;) Then I felt a bit inadequately qualified. I mean, who am I to comment on others, when my musical expertise extends to being able to play a mean Greensleeves on the recorder and a passable Annie's song on the flute! Haven't picked up either instrument for years! What I do have, however, is over 30 years of experience as a gig goer, so I can comment on what I like and what I don't! It's only my opinion and, if I don't like a band it doesn't mean they are bad, just not to my own liking. I admire anyone who has the guts to get up on that stage and have a go!
