Dynamic alt twosome THE CHRONICLES OF MANIMAL AND SAMARA continue to shine with the release of their brand new single, The Prophet, out now via all major platforms. This striking cut will also be backed by a spectacular new video, out on Thursday 2nd December.
Formed at the start of 2020, THE CHRONICLES OF MANIMAL AND SAMARA (TCOMAS) are based in London. However, the origins of the duo are aptly distinct: Daphne Ang (Vocals, Piano, Keyboard) was born in Singapore, and Andrea Papi (Guitar, Bass, Vocals) hails from Italy. By tugging from a host of influences, most notably Tool, Kraftwerk, and Devin Townsend, TCOMAS splendidly weave music, literature, and history together into a heady cocktail where rock, prog and metal blend gloriously with electronica. This engrossing cocktail has seen the alt crew captivate new fans and audiences. All of this has been backed by a remarkable work ethic and quality musical output. So far, TCOMAS have released eight stunning singles and music videos, along with their blistering debut album, Full Spectrum. Numerous singles taken from Full Spectrum also secured positions in many Spotify curated official playlists.
TCOMAS’s new single, The Prophet, is another compelling piece of textured progressive sturdy rock which only serves to increase the group’s rocketing profile. Daphne from the band discusses the track: “The song is a tribute to Sylvia Plath’s poem, Lady Lazarus, in which the “The Prophet” is told through the eyes of an advanced A.I robot who is “resurrected” like the biblical Lazarus, but this time with a destructive super-intelligence, wreaking havoc upon her human creators. “The Prophet” petitions for the ethical use of Artificial Intelligence technologies in order to protect human consciousness and our existence as a species. The song is an ominous reminder that if we are not careful, we might find ourselves with a technology that destroys the civilisation that invented it.”
The band’s much appreciated new album, along with fresh singles and thrilling videos are all planned for next year – 2022 is primed to be monumental for THE CHRONICLES OF MANIMAL AND SAMARA.
