The Damn Truth lay everything on the line for their immense fourth self titled studio album.
2025 won't know what's hit it!

Montreal,Canada based rockers The Damn Truth return kicking and screaming into 2025 as they unleash their self titled fourth studio album, released via Spectra Musique on Friday, March 14th, produced once more by Bob Rock. The fiery foursome, once again prove their well deserved status from touring non stop, taking a breather to write and deliver their heaviest album to date, musically and emotionally, point proven by album opener, ‘Be Somebody’,(one of four singles released from the album) has a quaint, acoustic intro and lead vocal that tugs at the heartstrings until they snap as the song elevates skywards for a full on rant, courtesy of the powerhouse vocals of Lee-La-Baum.

‘I Just Gotta Let You Know’ opens with doo wop handclaps, more acoustic beauty, until all hell breaks loose to be a drum driven headbanger. It’s a bass heavy ear bruiser to decimate your hearing and we’re worthy enough to receive another outrageous guitar solo from the fretboard of Tom Shemer.

Throbbing bass lines from PY Letellier pin down the rock royalty of ‘Love Outta Luck’ are blown away to let some serious rock and raunch fly free, giving this song a barroom boogie vibe for big fat riffs to test the strength of your audio system.

The first ballad here is the tearjerking ‘If I Don’t Make It Home’, an early highlight for me. Lyrics are very personal that kick down the door for this thought provoking opus to cruise along on inspiring choruses to make your day even more important.

‘Better This Way’ has a lilting vocal intro, gaining strength towards sugar sweet choruses but with enough bite to propel it for stadium filling glory.

Riffs crash and burn throughout ‘Mirror Mirror’, rampaging through earworm melodies so fast that it’s hard to keep up with them.

‘All Night Long’ romps along with aplomb, courtesy of more speaker rattling riffs, roaring and raging to make for the heaviest song here, strangely giving off a vibe of ‘Easy Livin’ by Uriah Heep.

My attention was grabbed immediately by ‘The Willow’ as beautiful acoustic guitar, woodwind like nuances and a drawled lead vocal suddenly explodes into life with monolithic, power packed prowess from a stupendous lead vocal.

Lyrics spat out with vitriol capture the mood of ‘Addicted’. Mighty drum pounds from Dave Traina pin this Godzilla stomped piledriver down. Once again, a lead vocal is screamed out with 100% conviction.

‘Killer Whale’ is another aural battery of tectonic plate shifting prowess, knuckling down around a song of majesty as Lee -La wails like a high note hitting Janis Joplin.

This totally immense album closes too soon as the slow burning ‘The Dying Dove’ ignites when the fuse is lit, giving it a Western feel akin to a range riding journey. Riffs jab like a prize fighter, dishing out knockout blows for five fast and furious minutes, ascending to a cataclysmic, full band outro.
