One of my major highlights of 2021 has come from mindblowing Montreal party starters The Damn Truth and you could certainly bet that they would be the last to leave! Their third studio album Now Or Nowhere was unleashed on April 25th and a go for the throat nine songs contain the delightful ‘Tomorrow’, the second track recently released from it.
They have an exhilarating formula as an earworm guitar intro heralds molasses thick riffing that brought to mind early Blue Cheer in their stoner rock prime. A super tight rhythm section of bouncy bass guitar grooves and rock solid drumming leave the spotlight to be taken by the haunting and also sassy, classy lead vocals of Lee-La Baum as she reaches new heights in the sugar sweet choruses.
The video of ‘Tomorrow’ takes in the 1960’s, 70’s and 90’s musical eras that are their major influences. They head over to the UK in February 2022 between the 13th and 25th for headlining gigs and as support to King King.
