Hot on the heels of their July 2024 single ‘Northwest Coast’, taken from their upcoming fourth studio album The House Beyond The Fires on November 1st 2024, ‘There Ain’t No Future’ is a real balls to the wall four minutes of rage to say the least which I think tips its hat to the current state of the UK.
Guitarist and lead vocalist Ally Dickaty proclaims, “This is a track for the uninspired, for the unheard, those who crave truth and all that’s real. Those struggling from day to day to make ends meet, yet still have love in their hearts to fight the good fight. Those who see the system is broken and choose not to punch down. We’re really proud of this track. Musically, we haven’t released a song like this before. It’s a further glimpse into an album that we consider our best work to date.”
The album is their first as a two piece in 2021.
Ally also adds,“We have always been renowned for the power and energy of our live performances and strived to recreate that intensity through the production and mix of the records. I feel like we’ve really turned a corner with this album”.
My take on this totally over the top song is that the dynamic duo hit hard and heavy with a put up or shut up caustic rant to highlight the state our country is in, knowing we need a light at the end of a seemingly unreachable end of the tunnel. A lung stripping lead vocal encapsulates our frustration over a guitar fuelled heavy metal monster, lyrics we can all relate to and a ground shaking drum battery. Job done!
