American underground hero THE WHITE BUFFALO has teamed up with Clash for the European premiere of his music video for “Modern Times”.
Led by singer/songwriter Jake Smith, THE WHITE BUFFALO is probably best known for his numerous song placements in the TV series Sons of Anarchy, including the series finale song “Come Join the Murder”, which was co-written with series producer Kurt Sutter and nominated for an Emmy for “Outstanding Music and Lyrics”.
Taken from his new album, ‘Love and the Death of Damnation’ – which is due to be released on CD and vinyl on February 12th in Europe with three exclusive bonus tracks – “Modern Times” is a feel-good song which Clash describes as “Starkly honest yet musically ambitious”.
THE WHITE BUFFALO’s Jake Smith explains:
“With this album, I really wanted to get back to songs… I wanted to get back to writing individual stories, as opposed to an extended narrative. I wanted each song to make you feel something. In the past, the songs have almost always been pretty dark. But this time, I was also able to channel some happier stuff and write a couple of actual feel-good songs. It’s also more varied musically. I really made an effort to expand my sound, and to get out of my comfort zone as a songwriter.”
