Summary:

Watch out for your ankles as Twitch's Rats scurry along, releasing their debut 4 track EP,Nobody Left!

It’s here! It’s finally here, as Nantwich based ankle biters Twitch’s Rats, lash out with their debut, four track EP, Nobody Left.

I’ve been following them since their covers days, releasing a single of hard rock, ‘Shot Down’ in March 2024 and now this four track EP shoots from the hip, taking no prisoners, point proven by EP starter, ‘She Sleeps Alone’, putting the power into power into this power ballad with a self assured ease. It seems strange hearing lead vocalist James Webster singing a lot different than the Tasmanian Devil you see and hear onstage. The song heavies up when the gargantuan riffs kick in for the stratospheric height reaching choruses, closing on a guitar heavy, headbanging outro with added feedback!

‘On Their Own’, first single taken from the EP is a pit opener from the first chord! Without trying to make too many comparisons, this could easily fit in the first two Alice In Chains albums due to it’s heart worn on the sleeve potency for a bonafide, no bullshit song. It’s definitely the real deal.

The strangely titled ‘The Kettle’ fires the flames for some power metal prowess for some seriously scorching fretboard fury with an unhinged bark at the moon that could spontaneously combust in only three full on schizophrenic three minutes.

It all ends far too soon as ‘Authority’ is a major rager, courtesy of hefty riffing, a rock solid rhythm section and a gnarly vocal spat out with verve and as Eric Cartman from South Park would say, “Respect my Authority.”

The EP launch on September 21st at a very well attended Nantwich Football Club saw them go to the top of the table, supported by two excellent local bands.

Highlights from Slated was their take on a sumptuous ‘Even Flow’ and a feral rasp of ‘Creep’.

‘Catalyst’ got some serious pitting for a tectonic plate worrying instrumental run through of ‘Enter Sandman’.
