“Offerings” is the fourth album from Indie rock band Typhoon.
Unusually rather than releasing a song as a single, they’ve released what they describe as the first movement from the album which is made up of the first four songs on the album. Check it out here…
That will give you far more of an idea of what to expect from the album than you’d get from a single song.
“Offerings” is divided into four movements (Floodplains, Flood, Reckoning, and Afterparty) to represent the mental phases the main character goes through where he first realizes that something is wrong, then struggles through the chaos of his situation, and finally moves into acceptance before succumbing to his dreadful fate. As such this could be described as a concept album with it’s story arc that spans the entire album.
It’s a very good album that surpasses a lot of indie rock being released. It’s got well written songs and a strong story that links things together. The music is good solid Indie rock and the vocals are very good. I’m generally not a fan of most indie rock albums but this one stands out as something that I can happily listen to again and again. A very good album that is well worth a listen.
“Offerings” will be released on 12th January 2018 via Rollcall records.
