Summary:

A single that can't really be played enough. Superb.

Rise Above Records is a mark of quality that all record labels should aspire to. I’m pretty sure I like every band on their roster, or if I don’t like them I know somebody who loves them, such can be differences of opinion.

Runaway girlsUncle Acid and the Deadbeats are a band that though lumped in with the 60’s/70’s revivalist occult doom rock (or whatever you personally call it )that swept through over the last few years are more than that. Uncle Acid are a superb band that aren’t trying to recreate or copy  anybody but are taking their inspiration and putting it out for everybody to enjoy. A new 7″ single ‘Runaway Girls’ has just been released and is as Sabbathy as you can get in the best possible way.

That same atmosphere, audible bass, jazzy drumming and effected vocals are all there all with a guiatr groove that makes you want to play it over and over. The only complaint I have is that they didnt’ include a longer version as a b-side because this is a track that could really be jammed out. They have, however, included an acoutic version of  ‘Devils Work’ from  their full length ‘Mind Control’  which is just superb. To be honest there is very little reason not to buy it.

Uncle Acid And The Deadbeats are :

Kevin (K.R.) Starrs (aka. Uncle Acid) – Lead Guitars, Organ, Vocals
Yotam Rubinger – Guitars, Backing Vocals
Dean Millar – Bass
Itamar Rubinger – Drums

A single that can't really be played enough. Superb.
