PlanetMosh Keeping it Metal
Vaneno are a Portuguese Sludge Metal band from Lisbon, formed in 2017. Born from the plot of old and new friends that wanted to jam together, the band’s sound combines strong elements of Sludge Metal with elements reminiscent of Stoner, Doom and Death.
This debut four track offering is a great place to be. Opener ‘Glorybringer ‘ packs plenty of punch and rawness into a compelling five minute death metal classic. ‘Deceiver ‘ continues the trend. It’s actually quite a dark EP this, one of those that whisks you away to another place. Intense as well. Painfully intense.
‘Ad Nauseum ‘ is great as it holds some clever riffage, and ‘Nightrider ‘ increases the pace of the whole EP, just at the right time. Vaneno‘s next move should be to create a full album, because just going off these four tracks alone, a full album would be an absolute classic. I urge you to buy this EP. Lovely.
