To use a phrase from the sadly departed Paul Baloff, ex Exodus vocalist once screamed out,”Do you want it heavier?It’s going to get heavier!” Birmingham based mindblowing band Vanitas prove their power with their first release of 2025, new single ‘Your Demise’, a major rager par excellence!
To my old ears it’s a mind boggling three minute aural assault to your speaker system and hearing as it demands to be blasted out, surging along, taking no prisoners from the off as a clubbing, visceral delivery rages hard from the skull crushing vocals from Jade Maris, roaring, screaming and whispering above a twin guitar battery, all pinned down by a rhythm section of bass guitar bombast and a drum battery to rattle your ribs into submission! Job well and truly done!
They unleashed their debut EP in 2022 with their self proclaimed thought provoking, ‘cinematic djent’ tones. 2024 saw them intensify, ascending to higher levels with their sophomore EP, Chaos Theory.
