One of the forefathers and icons of punk rock and heavy music, Iggy Pop, has teamed up and collaborated with Joshua Homme (Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal) to release a new album in March, 2016. Titled Post Pop Depression, the album will be released by Loma Vista Recordings.
Generally, the album is said to pick up where Pop’s magnum opus and collaboration with recently deceased David Bowie, Lust For Life, left off. The nine-song album will be released on March 18.
With an all-star backing band consisting of Queens of the Stone Age alumni Dean Fertita (keyboards, guitar), Troy Van Leeuwen (guitar), Chavez‘s Matt Sweeney (bass guitar), and Arctic Monkeys‘s Matt Helders (drums), the duo will bring their “autobiographical”, “victory lap” vision of perserverance to listeners worldwide.
As the duo are planning a short tour of intimate venues where Iggy’s presence will still ruffle feathers, fans should act quickly to get tickets.
Update: The tour has been announced. The other musicians in the band for this tour will be Dean Fertita, Troy Van Leeuwen, Matt Helders, and Matt Sweeney.
