WE ARE THE OCEAN announce fourth album, Ark, on 16th March

After the fantastic support that the band have had since revealing their first new music in over 2 years, We Are The Ocean today reveal the details for their forthcoming album ‘ARK’, as announced in the Live Lounge this morning on BBC Radio 1. Set for release on March 16th 2015 via Hassle Records, We Are The Ocean opted to record once again with Peter Miles who recorded their previous two albums (Go Now and Live & Maybe Today, Maybe Tomorrow). The Essex four piece decamped to their second home, Middle Farm Studios to deliver the most exciting We Are The Ocean album to date. ‘ARK’ also features stunning artwork from Dmitri Drjuchin, who’s previous work includes album art for Father John Misty and Reggie Watts, as well as comedians Marc Maron and Eugene Mirman.

Their fourth full length album, ‘ARK’ sees We Are The Ocean at their most ambitious, and perhaps more importantly, their most proficient. With the title track ‘ARK’ the band demonstrated their growing ambition and the flexing of their creative muscles; already on the B list at BBC Radio 1, it is a track that builds on their years of experience, with epic strings and Liam Cromby’s voice at full throttle. The album in its entirety however, confirms their reputation as one of the UK’s most interesting and creative rock bands, as it spans rock sub-genres to take the listener on a journey from epic stadium fillers, such as ‘ARK’ and ‘Empire’, to the more traditional We Are The Ocean sound on tracks like ‘Wild’, whilst still managing to take in a more powerful brand of rock’n’roll on ‘Sweet Little Lies’ and ‘Shere Khan’.
Ark is available to pre-order now, with multiple pre-order bundles and limited edition signed copies available from www.wearetheocean.co.uk, and also available digitally from iTunes with an exclusive bonus track via HERE . We Are The Ocean also support Fightstar at Brixton Academy on the 15th December for their special 10 year anniversary date, tickets are available from HERE.
