deVience UK’s Hottest Rock Band Releases Debut Album

UK’s hottest rock band deVience releases debut album
London-based rock band deVience will release their long awaited self-titled debut album on 15 July 2016. The 13 track record has already been described as a breath of fresh air for British rock music. The music is very much classic rock but with a twist that is very 2016. The rockers were recently portrayed as “somewhere between Queen, Thin Lizzy and Guns ‘n Roses”.

“We are really proud of our effort and feel that this is a really strong entry into the music industry both in the U.K and worldwide,” said front man Giovanni Spanó, who is also a well-respected vocalist on London’s West End, “The boys and I have put in an immense amount of effort into the music, the song writing, the production and our live show, and we are very excited to share this with our old and new fans and people who love rock music as much as we do.”

The album features the singles ‘Move‘, ‘Take Me Down‘ and ‘Holdin’ Me Back‘, just three of the songs that form a part of deVience’s electric live set that literally gets audiences on their feet. All the tracks were produced, recorded and mixed in London by Frankie Torpey and were mastered in Manchester by Bob Cooper. All tracks were composed by band members Giovanni Spanó (vocals), Ben Porter (bass guitar), Donnie Roulstone (lead guitar), Jim O’Connor (lead guitar) and Olli Carter (drums).

The record has been released through Broken Road Records and is currently available for pre-order on iTunes. An exclusive launch show for media and fans is scheduled on Thursday 7 July at 229 The Venue in London.

About deVience (www.deVience.com)

The sound of deVience (pronounced Div-eye-ince) is defined by soaring vocals, traditional rock melodies, swaggering riffs and pulsating rhythms. If you like anything from classic rock to contemporary Noughties beats, your ears will be pleading for more! deVience is a fine blend of classic rock with a current and modern twist.

The band was established in 2013 as members Gio, Ben, Donnie, Jim and Olli came together with a common passion for making music, the group drawing together differing but seamlessly compatible individual influences which soon combined to form a distinctive new sound.

So far, the highlight of the band’s journey has been a trip across the pond to Los Angeles where they played to a great reception in famous venues including The Viper Room and Whiskey A Go Go, both in the infamous on the Sunset Strip. deVience has also played at numerous established venues at home in London such as Borderline, The 100 Club and Sound. This is testimony to the fact that this band is destined for great things!

deVience always bring no less than an electrifying performance to the stage, and make their principal objective providing YOU the audience with a memorable show. We make music not only to satisfy our own musical cravings but the cravings of those of you that yearn for this music as much as we do. To those of you that continue to fly our flag in the face of the bland, corporate dullness proliferating the airwaves: rock on!

‘Move’ was the first single off the album.

About Louise Swift

I first went to a gig in 1981, Gillan at Leeds University. I've been a regular gig goer ever since. I haven't kept count of how many gigs I've been to over the intervening years, but it's a lot! My favourite bands are AC/DC then, in no particular order, Anti-Nowhere League, Slaughter and the Dogs, Towers of London and Dirt Box Disco. I tend to like Glam/Punk and rude offensive lyrics, not sure what that says about me but as Animal would say 'So What!' The question was recently put to me - did I write for any online publications? My reply - No, but I'd like to! Planetmosh was suggested and I found myself offering to review Aces High Festival. Easy peasy I thought! Well not quite, if a jobs worth doing it's worth doing well! I had sixteen bands to research. I found I actually enjoyed that and it kept me too busy to be making lunatic comments on Facebook! ;) Then I felt a bit inadequately qualified. I mean, who am I to comment on others, when my musical expertise extends to being able to play a mean Greensleeves on the recorder and a passable Annie's song on the flute! Haven't picked up either instrument for years! What I do have, however, is over 30 years of experience as a gig goer, so I can comment on what I like and what I don't! It's only my opinion and, if I don't like a band it doesn't mean they are bad, just not to my own liking. I admire anyone who has the guts to get up on that stage and have a go!
