Grammy Award-winning Halestorm to perform live at Metal Hammer Golden God Awards

The Metal Hammer Golden God Awards 2016 in association with Fireball, Grammy Award-winning Halestorm announced as second band to perform live.

A Salute To Lemmy, Saxon with Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee of Motörhead to perform a UK-exclusive set to celebrate the life of Lemmy Kilmister.

Grammy Award-winning Halestorm will play live at the Metal Hammer Golden God Awards in association with Fireball, which take place at the Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith, London on June 13th, and is one of only two confirmed UK shows for the band.

Halestorm are known for being one of the hardest-working bands in the world. Frontwoman and guitarist Lzzy Hale, who is also nominated for the Dimebag Darrell Shredder Award, is one of the most celebrated and enigmatic performers in the business. Halestorm’s relentless touring and songwriting has seen them sell millions of albums worldwide.

Lzzy and her brother Arejay founded the band in 1997, aged just 13 and 9 respectively. Playing live from the get-go, their dad was their original bassist. Their unwavering dedication to their art has seen them pick up numerous awards, including a Grammy in 2013 for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance.

Currently on a world tour, they are reported to play more than 250 shows a year, and 2016 is no exception. They released their third album, ‘Into The Wild Life’, to huge critical acclaim in 2015, with Metal Hammer giving it 8 out of 10, declaring it “an absolute knockout” and predicting “world domination seems inevitable”.

Halestorm are the second band to be announced for what will be one of the most exciting live lineups of the year. With performances throughout the award ceremony, Halestorm join the already-announced Salute To Lemmy that will see Saxon, one of Britain’s greatest rock bands, perform live with Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee from Motörhead in honour of the great Lemmy Kilmister. They will be playing a selection of Motörhead and Saxon songs in a UK-exclusive set.

Lzzy Hale says, “We are so excited to be attending and performing at the Golden God Awards! This will be no ordinary event. There’s voodoo in the air and the rock’n’roll gods will smile upon all of us that day! We plan on making them proud and getting real loud! See you all there!”

Alexander Milas, Editor-in-Chief of Metal Hammer Magazine and TeamRock Executive Director, says, “The Golden Gods are more than just an award show – they’re a party we throw for the people who’ve supported us for all this time. We couldn’t be more pleased to add Halestorm to the bill, a phenomenal live band who’ve dwelled in our pages since the beginning and are guaranteed to shake the Eventim Apollo to the rafters. We’ve more big news to come, so if you’re thinking of coming down you’d best get your skates on. No sleep ’til Metal Hammersmith!”
