Jeff ‘Oly’ Olson (Trouble/In-Graved/Retro Grave) – Exclusive Interview

Jeff ‘Oly’ Olson is best known as the original drummer with Trouble, one of the groups which shaped the sound of modern doom metal.

Having left the band in 2008, he recently has re-united with his former bandmates, this time contributing keyboards to their forthcoming new album, ‘The Dark Riff’.  He also has teamed up with another legend of the doom metal scene, Victor Griffin, on the latter’s new In-Graved project.

Planet Mosh had the great pleasure of being invited to chat to Jeff, via a Skype connection to his home in Maine.  The subsequent chat covers his union with Griffin – including the lowdown on the long term future of In-Graved – their forthcoming tour of the European festival circuit, his teaching, his ‘day job’ as a master brewer… as well as that new Trouble album and the current state of play in relation to his own Retro Grave project.
