Orange County, California based Southern rockers Robert Jon & The Wreck, release ‘Trouble’, a single taken from their ninth studio album Red Moon Rising, released via Joe Bonamassa’s Journeyman Records on June 28th, 2024. Formed in 2011, a succession of very impressive albums and live performances have given them well deserved recognition.
My take on ‘Trouble’ is that they show off their heavier side of Southern Rock for this hairy headbanger that takes no prisoners from speaker rattling prowess, courtesy of some ear bruising riffs, deadly dynamics from a raucous thythm section that includes swirling keyboards and facemelting guitar solos, all held in place by a word of warning lascivious lead vocal from Robert Jon Burrison.
Robert Jon Burrison adds,“Trouble captures a classic tale of a person who brings chaos wherever they go. It comes from a song idea years back. It embodies a familiar tale we’ve all heard before about a person that is walking bad news or trouble, everywhere they go. With a hard hitting riff and chorus that’s hard to get out of your head, you better watch out for Trouble”.
